Inconsistency, “Too Little, Too Late” Edition

Following up on the addendum to the post below, I see Murphy has the following brilliant insight on tonight’s press conference.

ologo says:

““It is only government that can break the vicious cycle where lost jobs lead to people spending less money which leads to even more layoffs,” he said. “and breaking that cycle is exactly what the plan that’s moving through Congress is designed to do.””

color me skeptical.

it’s too little, too late, and too diffuse — and people are worried and distrustful — the age of thrift is upon us and there aint nothin a muddled stimulus bill can do about it.

what an amateur.

After spending two weeks screeching (yes dear, screeching) about the size of the stimulus bill, encouraging all her devotees to call congress to oppose it, murphy’s reaction is “too little, too late, too diffuse?”

Are you fucking kidding me?

Too little? I guess murphy must have realized that the pumatards over at the confluence have been pretending to agree with Paul Krugman that the stimulus should have been larger (a position I’m sympathetic to). Is she still pretending to be a liberal? And too late? I certainly don’t remember her saying this should pass more quickly. In fact, I remember the exact opposite. Too diffuse? Well I guess she couldn’t think of a third aspect in which the the bill was lacking. Is she really suggesting that spending $800 billion on fewer projects would have been more economically efficient? Diminishing returns murphy, diminishing returns. She wasn’t really saying that though, she just wanted a third adjective.

What. a. fucking. moron.

Oh, look, more comment win!

How can we get credentials for media? I think our blog should have representation, since HP does lol

Please god, let this happen. I nominate jenniforhillary. I mean, if Jeff Gannon could do it…

And our dear mountainsong gets in on the dumb also. Totally off-topic dumb, but whatever. Winning exceprt

In this case, my thinking is that this is the real reason by moving the authority over the Census to the White House.
Earlier, someone referred to ACORN as the new iteration of the Black Panthers. I can’t prove it, but my suspicion is that ACORN is really a front name for Obama’s “Civilian Army”.

Yeah, or Obama nominated a conservative republican to head the commerce department and liberal and minority groups don’t want him to undermine the integrity of the count for partisan purposes. It has to do with statistical sampling methods. I could explain it, but you wouldn’t get it.

Hey look! Njima has a basic understanding of what’s going on!

Teh One has a press conference because he wants his bill passed. He’s going to be back in Illinois tomorrow trying to sell it.

It’s a start, I guess. She must have just finished watching some schoolhouse rock.

There’s probably all sorts of win over there right now. Share your favorites.

  1. I would love to share my favs, but PUMAPAC is down again. I wonder if the last fundraiser wasn’t enough for the hosting fees.

  2. Nijma seems pretty rational from what I’ve seen. wonder how long she’ll (?) last there.

  3. How can you expect consistency from a group that attacked Obama for passing the Leadbetter Act because he has not forced a bill he sponsored as Senator through the new Senate? Or a group that bigoted on about how the Reinvestment & Recovery Act was full of “pork” such as condoms, then when Republithugs got that cut from the bill, they bigoted on that removing the condom provision was an affront to all women.

Dirty racist Republican bitter old bigots bigoting.

  4. Today Murfee’s sources are an AOL online poll and “Cinie.”

The win for the day has to be: “O’logo is not attracting the mega-crowds to which he had become accustomed. Only 1,500 showed up in Elkhorn…”

There were only 1,500 tickets total. People started lining up before 7 am and they actually crammed 1,700 in a high school gym. lol.

  5. Today Murfee’s sources are an AOL online poll and “Cinie.”

PUMA is not a learning organization. Witness their mastery of polls during the primaries and election!

  6. She now has gone completely the other way – wow her bigotes stupidity may sometimes come right

“Tax cuts for those who don’t need it and just enough spending to put us in debt for generations WITHOUT stimulating the economy. This bill is shaping up to be an unmitigated disaster.”

So order your Republican pals to restore the cuts you stupid of stupid bigoted thing.

  7. Sometimes you just can not help wishing for something to happen; like one of them gets injured at night, while their doctors are shut and the hospital has no idea of allergies. I guess bigotbot PUMA things rarely do cross state travel. They may meet non PUMAs.

Quite funny to read a bigotbot bigoting on about pitchforks and torches. All those burning crosses that they are used to (of course they will still swear on their dirty bigot arses that they are not racist). LOL

Anyway full credit to the bigotbot UppityThing for another example of paranoia so stupid it is beneath contempt.
Hold onto your hats. I can’t wait till AARP takes a bite out of this guy’s butt. They will be standing in front of the White House with pitch forks and torches.

In mentioning ‘automated’ medical records which will make things “more efficient,” they didn’t explain exactly “How” that will happen. Well not to the public anyhow.

As you read on, you will thank Jesus (even if you don’t believe!) that Tom Daschle got his smarmy thieving butt thrown out of that HHS slot before he even sat his ethanol-scamming ass in his plushy chair. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be consulting. What scares me is Barack Obama was so adamant that he was Just What The Doctor Ordered.

Let’s take a look at what Tom Daschle and Barack Obama have planned for you in the ’stimulus” bill.

Senators should read these provisions and vote against them because they are dangerous to your health. (Page numbers refer to H.R. 1 EH, pdf version).

The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.

But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health Care Crises.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.”

  8. Pete, I’m glad you caught that.

Those AOL polls are routinely freeped – click the link on my name and you’ll see how I know. If you’ve visited the comments on my posts you’ll know that they don’t even have to be freeped!

PUMA has routinely used the AOL polls as “proof” that Obots are wrong after encouraging their number to go and vote on them. I used to watch with astonishment as the hits from right-wing and puma sites grew and they spread the word.

Murphy is not all that stupid, she knows damn well about those polls and the fact that only 1500 tickets were even available in Elkhart.

Just another ploy to fire up her money tree.

  9. I noticed that she is after another $50k from the bitter bigots. Pretty recession proof as well. As more of them lose thier job she can rile them up even more.

  10. What is this I hear? The Stimulus passed the Senate? PUMA didn’t stop it? Another EPIC FAIL?

  11. Sean, the irony is that a disproportionate number of PUMAs seem to have health problems. Indeed, there was scope during the election for tracking those who’d spent some time PUMA sites then started hitting up people for donations to help them out – Susan Hudgens, for one – but I decided not to go there as they were just screwing each other and were often already being called on it by those they were trying to fleece!

If you’re going for any sort of nationally coordinated health system, of course you need to track what’s going on, for a variety of reasons.

In the UK NHS, progress from paper documents (which were already shared, but relatively inefficiently) to a workable national database has been beset with problems – funnily enough, largely because of the inefficiency and incompetence of American contractors who were brought in to do the work, and our own government’s parlous inability to manage IT contracts. At. All.

There are lessons to be learnt from our model and others across the world (I doubt the US model will end up closely resembling the NHS anyway).

There are obviously risks whenever data is shared across organizations. That doesn’t make it any less necessary. I’m sure fruitful months can be spent drawing up safeguards and reinforcing those that already exist.

The whole process should employ quite a few people!

As for the AOL polls, tell me about it. My non-business email account is with AOL Mail. Judging by the results of all the polls during the last year, you’d believe the world was populated with even more idiots than it actually is. On the other hand, it does give me easy daily access to Political Machine! 😉

  12. If the dirty bitter bigots that are the PUMA 5 actually cared about women, instead of acting for Sarah Palin, Henrietta Hughes should make them think about what they are doing when they call the Stimulus Bill “Porkulus”.

  13. PUMA is getting clowned by openleft.

  14. Linky por favor, Pete!

  15. Man, did THAT stir up some shit! Sirota’s getting some shit from the Clintonites over there, though. Not surprised.

  16. Sigh – I’ve always been on the fence about Sirota, but this made me swoon:

    3. To Clintonites, just STFU and slither back to your rathole of bitterness. Your candidate lost because she helped create the problems we now have to fix. Deal with that and become a productive member of society, or again, just STFU.

  17. The Neo Nazis at NQ have goose stepped right over the edge; instead of a recovery act – they want for economic Darwinism. (The fact that a fair few do not know or believe in Darwin is a different matter).

Not one word of compassion for Henrietta Hughes. Just support for Mark Sanford let them die policy.

Thankfully he is no where near power, although every one of them losing their homes would simply be a small contribution towards giving them a conscience.

  18. Hi all John was kind enough to direct me here..GREAT site.
I just wanted to take a moment to say.

  19. Wendy I shall, this once be fair to PUMA bigots. They did not fail on this. This is not a PUMA fail.

That is because their bitter bigoting minds of hate had absolutely no impact on the progress of this legislation. They were so ineffective with their five calls each from five bigots and unlawful spamming of Senators email accounts that the term “fail” awards them far far too much credit.

The worst thing is, that the stupid personification of Neo Nazi Rethug feminists, aka Darhag Murphy, has on her multi $million “blog” (sorry that was JSND) , a graph detailing how much recovery you get for the money spent and the stupid oracle of stupid still does not understand it.

(soz for rant peeps – just was reading about unemployment and lack of heath care in the States; then re-read DarHags site)

  20. PUMA PAC’s up and down like myiq’s trousers at the moment (currently up).

For a deep draft of themilk of human kindness (and because PUMA PAC’s being sooo predictable on this issue), check out cheerleader from hell Michelle Malkin’s pustular blog:

I hope her commenters lose everything they’ve got and live long lives to witness a bunch of yahoos guffawing at them as they grovel in their own filth.

  22. Heh. On the other hand, the delightful Trish may soon be joining the ranks of the unemployed:

    TrishfromCanada 02.10.09 at 8:45 pm

I had a meeting with a banker today and he tells me Bo is going to do great things but he has to stop being so negative. So I lean across the table and say, I despise the man, he’s going to do crap, if you want to get me started on his useless stimulus package, just mention how great he is one more time and I’ll rant for hours because I’ve read the plan and I can summarize it for you if you still think he’s going to do great things. (hehe h/t to all the Puma’s for their summaries)

Odd that Bo’s name was never mentioned again. My boss told me I scared the guy.

  23. For a Canadian, Trish sure does spend an awful lot of emotion on Obama.

  24. Apols for the double post up there – I’d cleared my cookies after a session of PUMA lurking. If any kind soul would like to clean it up, I’ll pay the bill.

As for Trish, I pity her boss. She’s too thick to take a warning, obviously.

As an out-of-towner myself, I find her and Brian H’s gross negative interference in another country’s affairs through a ratfucking group scandalous. It’s not as if Canada doesn’t have its own problems to be getting on with.

  25. Actually, whatever happened this election would have been historic. McLAme would have been the oldest first term President and Palin would have been the most dangerous to have been a weak heart beat away from the Presidency. Obama is the first African American, and AFAIK first from a lone parent family. (I stand to be corrected on that).

So worldwide interest was definitely there. However I get what you are saying. Support the Party you are interested in – not a front designed to undermine a democratic Political process.
